Membership is constantly changing as people move in and out of the area, ranging from 48 in 1980, to today’s membership of around 130-140 resident members and 25 non resident members. Attendance on a Sunday morning is in the region of 150.
Those who attend the church live predominantly in the Bridge of Don; however the Church draws from across the City and neighbouring towns.
Our ministry structure currently comprises of Pastor and Elders who oversee the ‘spiritual’ aspects of church life (including home church groups, preaching team, worship and Pastoral Care Team); Deacons who oversee the ‘practical’ aspects of church life; and Ministry Groups (children, finance, hospitality, mission, outreach, property, social action, worship and youth). The Ministry Group Leaders formally meet with the Pastor, Elders and Deacons bi-monthly to share and discuss the ongoing ministries of the Church. On the alternative months the Pastor, Elders and Deacons meet as a combined leadership group. The Pastor and Elders meet between these meetings and as required.
The Church as a body meets regularly throughout the year to discuss the business of the church and to support good communication and congregational decision making. Many of the evenings begin with a meal together as a fellowship and have a separate children’s activity stream.
The Lord has provided all our financial needs through sacrificial giving. We currently own the Church Centre and two manses and strive to give approximately a third of our income across the year to overseas mission.
